leaky top

i recently had the pleasure of forgetting to latch my top on my 97 coupe needless to say.... at 50 mph i lost the top. I purchased a brand new top instead of a reconditioned one and the new top leaks like crazy... I tried adjusting the latches etc but it didnt work. The water seems to come in not at the latch points but directly through the factory seem where the plexi top meets the frame etc... anyone have this same problem????? any suggestions? Thanks
