If you were about to replace your seat covers and matching the original material was not an issue, would you pick leather or vinyl? Why? What are the pros and cons of each that would influence your pick? Assume that the car would be in the warm south, would have AC and be driven less than 8K miles a year, if that makes any difference.

Sam,

I notice you have a Nassau Blue 66, which is what mine is. Do you have the bright blue interior in leather? Has it shown signs of cracking or discoloration over the years? What do you preserve and clean it with?

Yes.....my interior is bright blue......I have not used anything on them.......they are fairly new........I bought the car in August.....prolly go with a Zaino product.:beer

leather or vinyl

I have the original leather in all my cars (67 BB, 67 E-type, 84 911, 86 505 Turbo, 88 coupe) and it all still looks good after all those years. The 84, 86 and 88 still have good smell, the 67s are roadsters. You can't hardly hurt good leather and if you think about it, leather looks great on anything sexy.

Best regards,
Gerry
