Can someone help me here? I've only had cloth seats in all my vehicles, so the Vette is the first one with leather. I've read the basic article here, but it's not what I'm looking for.

I don't have any stains or problems, but what should I do periodically to condition the leather? To keep it soft and supple. I don't want anything that will transfer to my clothes. I don't want my leather seats to get hard and crack, like you see sometimes.

It was easy back in the Army...doing your boots...just a bit of saddle soap followed by Kiwi....soft, supple, water resistant, and last forever.

:cool

I use Zaino's leather cleaner. Keeps the leather soft and leaves it looking like 'new' leather without thae normal 'sheen' you get from many products. Smells good too.:Steer

You should apply a leather conditioner at least once a month to keep the seats from wearing out prematurely.

I would also recommend cleaning the seats prior to conditioning them.

There are many good products out there.

Joe,
I use Lexol Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. It's a two step process, but well worth it in my opinion. You can generally find it at any ACE Hardware shop, and it'll be cheaper if you get there, as opposed to a auto-parts store.

PS- love your avatar. The slee-stacks! Haven't seen Land of the Lost in years!

Like CORed91, I use lexol as well. Excellent products.

I've just discovered Zymol Cleaner and Conditioner (two products). I love the way the seats look...so conditioned and soft!

So none of these products, lexol and Zymol, transfer to your clothes? I'd hate to ruin a nice shirt or pants....but then you'd think if it was made for seats that shouldn't be an issue....

CORed91 - Remember which sleestak this was?

:cool

Joe,
Lexol recommends you wait an hour after you've applied the cleaner and conditioner for the seats to fully dry. I have never had an issue with residue of the cleaner or conditioner on my clothes.

As for the sleestack, I can't remember his name, but he was the smart one from the future who used to go around regulating the crystals in the pylons.
:cool

Joe -- Your particular Sleestack would be named Enoch. The only good Sleestack.

Enoch!
That's right- I remember his name now.

He was a "good" sleestack, but I never really felt like his motives could be entirely trusted.

-Patrick

YES!! Enik or Enoch....the one that talked and didn't hiss....

His motives were a bit suspect, but at least he offered some trustworthy help, and was more communicative than "sareesataka! Wira, Hari..sareesataka!"

And that weirdo Zarn guy...almost invisible but not quite...whacked...
