Anyone install the vinyl or leatherlike seat covers? How are they compared to the leather? Thanks...:beer

Rich.... I know a guy that put the "leather-like" seats in his Vette and they do not breath and get VERY hot. They have held up well, but they're brutal in the summer. Go for the real leather if you can afford it.

Same here, the guy I bought my vette from had replaced his covers with the leather like, he did not like them and regretted not buying the leather.

I bought the leather perforated originals for my 85 and I'm happy with the results.

For sure go with real leather if you can afford it. Leather will last longer and wear better in my opinion than the leather like seat covers.

Just an FYI:

The 1982 seats came with the middle in leather but the side bolsters were vinyl. I THINK the 80's were the same. That's one of the reasons you see so many driver's side bolsters torn. If I didn't care about originality, I'd go with full leather.

Just my 2 cents worth. My 80 has all leather seats and they are starting to come apart at the seams on the driver side.

I was thinking that nice cloth seats would be better. Leather or vinyl are always too hot in the summer.

Just an opinion.

I would love to see a nicely done cloth version to, with the T-tops off on a sunny 95 degree day, leather and vinyl are to hot!
