About half the time when I turn off the headlights on my 95 the left headlight does not retract. Trying to turn it off and on a couple of times does not correct the problem. If I leave it extended for some hours it sometimes will retract and other times it remains stubornly open. I can of course pop the hood and manually retract it but that is a bother. Any suggestions?

This is just a shot in the dark but might help where to start or what not to replace. Change the right actuator #2 to the left side. See if the headlight does the same thing. If so, end of story.

motor gear bushings

This is a common problem. Most likely its the gel inside the gear that has deteriorated. Ecklers, Mid America, and others have a bushing kit for about $5. Consists of three little bushings that replace the gel. PITA to get the motor/gear assembly out but once done the bushings work great. Search the CAC for posts on headlight motors as there have been many posts relating to how to do the repair.

Good luck
