Left Rear Tire Low Again

I found my left rear tire was low again; about 10 psi. So I took it off and gave it a good visual check and found nothing. Then I submerged it into water and still found nothing. Hmm. I have seen tires like this in the past in which they needed weight on them to leak so this might be one of those. I had a tire slowly leaking when I restored this '71 and the leak was caused by severe rust pitting where the bead seats. I sandblasted the pitting down to bare metal then painted fiberglass resin onto the pitting to smooth it. It's possible this wheel is that wheel but it didn't show any signs of leaking so I am puzzled. It's about 90% worn out so I'll be replacing the rear tires in the late spring. Until then I'll just have to keep an eye on it and not let it get too low.

My vacuum reservoir is also leaking down during the night and I haven't found the cause of that either. Might be a headlight actuator beginning to leak. With these C3's it never ends.

So Einstein, your tires are 90% shot and your still using them?

Yep, and I'll continue using them until at least spring. As my '71 sees very little use during the colder winter months there's no point in changing them right now.

I'm sure you will.

Does Saudi Arabia have any vehicle safety laws?

New Amflo #150 Tire Inflator

My old Amflo #150 tire inflator was in pretty bad shape after 45 years of use so I finally bought a new one for only $18. It had gotten to the point in which it wouldn't show any pressure unless I added more pressure and THEN the pressure indicator would work. So I stripped it of any usable parts then trashed it.

My tire will only lose air pressure when it is parked in a certain position so it must have a little nail in it somewhere and it takes pressure on that nail to make it leak. The next time I find it low on pressure I'll take note of how the tire is positioned then take it off and do another visual inspection.
