Lens Speedo/Tach

This may be in the wrong forum?

I just ordered new front carpets and the Speedo/Tach Lens.

Now, about 10 years ago I replaced the lens and over the years it cracked in several places.

Is there any tips to installing this lens and preventing the cracking?

Or is this just normal wear??

Hmmm, that is strange.

Did yours have the little paper gasket still in it? If not, that may be why.

No reason to run it down super tight. You might try putting a small o-ring around each index point and screw hole to insulate it from the pressure of the screw and tab, and keep it from vibrating or making rattle noises if otherwise left loose.

No, It's just plastic against plastic.

There are 3 cracks parallel to each other and diagonal to the face.

They are also in the centre of the lens.
