OK, I have been Mr. Undecided as far as what to do with the engine in my car. Keep in mind I want this car to get a costume American flag paint job, so it's going to stand out.

I've been looking at beefing up the original engine or maybe just returning it to stock or buy a crate engine with about 400hp. Well, what the heck, let's do this right. I was going to redo the suspension and rearend anyway so why not beef it up so it can handle a big block?

I told my wife this morning I was thinking of putting together an L-88 copy and put it in the vette and she gets this grin on her face and says "Cool", gotta love that woman!

Sure I'll have lot's of fun side projects like building up the frame to handle the extra hp. Then let's remember about wider tires and the trailing arms. Lots of costume exhaust work.

Boy, won't this be fun! Only takes time and money!...and maybe a new five point harness!

Sounds like what I am doing right now with my 78! I am down to the frame, and beefing it up to handle a Big Block.

Just keep in mind the cost of such a project. The suspension upgrades alone is what slowing me down right now. I am having to save and pay as I build, so it is a little slow going right now. Hopefully I will have it back on the street this time next year. But I think the end result will be worth all of the work that is involved.

Isn't it great when the wife supports such a project! My wife keeps encouraging me to press on to complete it.

It is great to have support from my wife. Of coarse, she has a '67 Camaro that we redid. That only took 2 1/2 yrs.

...time and money
