That's what I am now using
I have just purchased a scissor lift myself, and now that the bugs are out, I couldn't be happier. I chose a heavy duty model from " Bend-Pak " their SP-7X, and it has, without a doubt, become my favorite garage tool.
The features I particular like are
(1) The small footprint, it actually takes up less space then a mid-year Corvette.
(2) Twin ramps + easy access: It is installed at the entrance to my garage, but with the twin mounting ramps at both ends, I simply drive over the lift to get to the rear of the garage.
(3) Adjustable lifting heights: My garage only has an 8' ceiling, but by lifting the unit to about half it capacity, I can work all day long sitting in my comfortable roll-around chair. Easy on the legs, and the arms also.
(4) Easy access to all the parts: With the wheels hanging loosely, and the complete center section opened up, there is no area I don't have access to.
(5) No stooping, or " lifting pod " manipulations needed. The unit lifts your Corvette from the center frame rails, so no need to crawl around placing block or pads, and there's no arms that will need adjustments in order to lift the vehicle. Simply bend down, and insert the rubber block's ( they are supplied with the unit ) under the center area, and your ready to lift.
(6) Capacity: The unit will lift 7000 lbs, so you could actually lift two Corvettes if you were ever able to get them both on the rails.
(7) Post-less: no Posts ( two or four ) to get in your way in the work area. Once a car is parked over the lift, the lift for all intents and purposes, becomes a non issue and disappears from view.
All in all , although I have only had it working for a couple of weeks now, it has become akin to the washer, or the micro-wave. Just one more thing I will never again be without.
Last but not least is the price. It can be purchase for only 2865$ and they deliver it free of charge in the lower 48.
