In cold weather (it seems) I have problems with the lights-on warning buzzer not going off after I pull the key from the ignition (with the lights down). I used to be able to shut the door firmly and it would stop, but that doesn't seem to be working?

Any ideas on a fix? If it's a fuse I can just pull, no problem.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply! This has been driving me crazy. Where's the buzzer relay located?

Follow the sound. I have an 82. Should be in the same place. Plugged into the fuse box under the driverside dash.

Assuming its the same as mine. Its a square box....about the size of a pack of cigarettes. There will be a number of wires going into it...don't unplug the wires. Just pull the box out of the Panel and let it hang.

As for the cause of your problem. More information is need to figure out whats wrong. You say the buzzer stays on when you turn off the lights and take the key out of the ignition. Is the door still closed when this happens? Or does the buzzer sound when you open the door?

Just looked in my manual.

I don't think that buzzer has anything to do with the lights.
The book says its the Seatbelt/Ignition key warning circuit. The components that make it work are 1. seatbelt warning circuit (try disconnecting the wire to your seatbelts...between seat and consol) 2.ignition key alarm switch or 3. left door switch ( the thing with the pin that the door pushes in when you close it).

I would try disconnecting the wire to the seatbelts first...maybe the pin sticks when its cold.

I would then try pushing and wiggling the pin for the driverside door.

If its the ignition alarm switch. i can't help. I have no experience with this component.

I'll give those a try, thanks for the info! :upthumbs
