Bought my 2005 corvette, I am planning the Lingenfelter 366 cid performance
package. They told me only 480 HP with my auto transmission.Car scheduled to be delivered to LPE nexy week. Has anybody had this done to their car?
I am only worried about driveablity for a every day car.
Thanks

sounds like a "top end" kit...

...for a 6.0Liter, isn't 366 the (stock) displacement already??

I drove a Callaway w/ a "top end" that made 109 hp over stock on a C5 - driveability was not an issue with that however, if LPE uses an aggressive cam, your results WILL differ :eek

Ask questions - is this the first car they have done this on???

Hope this helps :m

Lingenfelter does quality work. I have their Supercharger package. I suspect that the SC is more drivable than a NA 480 HP car. (It's more HP too, esp now with the intercooler) Moreover, I still get 30+ MPG on the road.

Thanks Mr. cool for the link. I quess it will happen (366) Hope mine works as well as Blue racer. They suggest a stall converter. Sorry but, what is that.

Anytime you do a heads and cam package you should do a convertor and possibly gears....

From what I understand as you go to a more high performance cam...the lower end of the rev band produces less power down low and more power up top...or better yet to take advantage of the new found power up top...A torque convertor with a higher stall speed gets you up in to the upper reaches of the rev band quicker from the time you put your foot into the gas...

Thats why if I had an automatic I'd look closely at a supercharger kit if its available from Lingenfelter...(the convertor and installs run around 1500 bucks...) gears another 800...

If you do the heads and cam...definitely do the convertor as they suggest...( I've always been partial to the Yank 3500 1.6 str convertor on the C5 after testing the various convertors out there...I drove one with the 3.42 gear swap and it drove like a lexus. Smoooth..A lot of guys put in shift kits at the same time and they had a blast with it. (another 100)

Anyways...

I don't know how much they are charging you but I'd seriously consider a supercharger instead of a heads and cam...and from what I understand you can get away without doing a convertor....

Plus the drivability is really much closer to stock.

I would say that Lingenfelters packages are premium priced yet you do get a fine end result with a warranty I believe to boot..

Ask them about a supercharger package with painted hood. (unless you don't like high rise hoods of course)

Just shooting the breeze.

THanks for your input. Stall converter $795.00. I am getting the package
