Just wondering if anyone here has done business with Lingenfelter. I'm considering sending my car to them for a performance package upgrade and thought maybe someone here on the CAC had done the same. Experiences, comments?

Remo,
Is this going to be your winter project? I highly endorse this idea. Although I personally have never done business with Lingenfelter, anything that will give you something to look forward to about the coming of Spring 2006, and ease your Corvette Acute Separation Anxiety (CASA), is greatly supported by the C5 Forum staff.

Your CASA es no mi casa. :D

Patrick - unless I hear a series of horror stories from the members, I plan to take it out to LPE in Decatur, early April and leave it for about three weeks. Need to have it ready for the CruiseFest in June.

A good friend had one of LPE's premium packages installed on his 03 Z06. I've driven it and it is awsome, 600+hp, HRE wheels etc. He said they were great people to deal with. For those that do not know, John Lingenfelter was involved in a car wreck that took his life not too long ago and his family now carries on with the business. He was known as the master of tuning small block Chevys. I have a few of his books, highly recomend them.

Remo,

I was just talking to Guy about your trip down there. Lingenfelter's doesn't know how to do bad work. John was a perfectionist and customer's cars got the same level of care that his race cars did. Nothing has changed.

David (Dad on the CAC) was down there a while back talking to them about a package for his C6. I haven't talked to him in over a month so his car may be done now. He said they were backed up for a long time to get work done so be sure to scedule way ahead. Every time I have been down to Decatur lately the bull pen is full of SSRs. Hummers and Tahoes as well as Corvettes. David says they are booked on SSR upgrades well into the future. They also advertise blower packages for the above mentioned vehicles on the local Ft. Wayne radio stations.

I'll contact David to see if he has his car done yet. Being retires he can be hard to track down at times :L

C6 Lingenfelter package

Actually I would rather use the term "backlog" rather than "booked". I was told by Jeff that at the time of my visit that they had a large backlog and that there were slower times that would allow for a 2/3 week turnaround. I took it from that statement that it was possible to have you Corvette tied up for longer than that at that time. The plan was to contact them this February and see if that works better and have it done then.

The down side is that this thing still has more power than I need and I'm now thinking why should I change it. It has been a flawless experience for over a year now and I would throw away 24,000 of warranty if I do it now. The other thought is that after I have it long enough to burn off that warranty I would be getting the itch to make a change and the Lingenfelter package would be more appropriate at that time. Who knows, when the winter blues set in it might be changed regardless of all my rational thoughts.

A few of Corvette folks I've hooked up with here in the Ft. Wayne area have had Lingenfelter do work on their Corvettes and they have nothing but good things to say about them.

Thanks All

Thanks everyone for the feedbaack. Next step is to work out a specific drop off date. Then sign a contract and send a check for 1/2 the cost.

I had the Supercharger Package done 3 years ago. No issues or complaints since. Love their service and support.

They are one of the premier tuning shops in the country. The only negative I have heard is that their prices can be beat. However, they do a lot of R&D on all their stuff, including work for GM. I'm planning on having their Dallas shop, 21CMC, do a maggie package on my car.
