Those who "know" me know that I sold my '84 about 2 years agoa and bought a '97. Well, I wanted my C4 back and finally found it and got it back.

The idiot who had my car obviously never took care of it and probably used kerosine for gas for all I know....

Runnin' like sh*t! Sooooo..... this weekend (and probably into next week by the time I get all the parts) it's getting a major going over.

Plugs, wires, air cleaner, fuel filter, oil change and filter, all new sensors, cleaning up/rebuilding throttle bodies, valve cover gaskets, etc....
I figure while I'm at it I may as well rip off the cat. converter can (it's empty) and put in a new high flow cat. It should eliminate the "blat, blat, blat" resonance I get when it's cold. Gonna flush the radiator and block and put a new 180dF thermostat in it and replace the antifreeze.

You forgot to hug and kiss your baby, glad you have her back! :upthumbs

nah... that was first thing. :D

Well... back to the garage.... I don't think that they could have POSSIBLY made the valve covers harder to get off. :eyerole

I'll "assume" that the lack of replies is a good indication that I haven't overlooked anything.

Steve,

Great to see you got your baby back! Awesome lookin' vette.

I especially like the wheels. Can you guess why?

Maybe transmission flush and new filter? Just a suggestion.

how long since the brake fluid has been changed?
if it's been a number of years or you don't know when it was last done you may want to change it out to be on the safe side.
Getting it to GO good isn't any fun if you can't depend on it STOPPING at least as well. :D

Steve, Before you do all that work,Get a Bottle of Blaster FIC (Fuel Injector Cleaner)(1treats 2 Tank's) and Run 2 Tank's of gas through it! It will Run Better and then tune it up!! This way any carbon and crud is cleaned out of fuel sys.& valves and head's and won't bounce around and foul new Plug's!!:upthumbs junk!!

I knew you guys would come up with more for me to do. ;)

Thanks though. All good suggestions and as long as I'm doin' it, I may as well do it right. Thanks.
