lock up converter

does any one know how to stop my converter from locking up?
is there a kit out there ?
i have a 91 vette l98 auto
the lock up is slipping and i know its a band aid solution for the prob
but till i get around to fixing it
?

not recommended it will burn up the tranny for lack of cooling but if you must disconnect the plug at the left side if the trans will really shorten the life better to replace the converter if that is the problem steve

hmmmmm

I don't know much about automatic transmissions, but there is a senoid in the trani that will lock up the converter at highway speed. I think it is for increasing gas milage. If it goes bad, it will keep the converter locked up and the car will sometimes stall when you come to a stop. (I think) not really sure. This is what I have been told. You can get a new selnoid at the dealer. They are about $45 *don't quote me on this one*
