I am trying to find a kit to replace the a/c hoses, dryer, and whatever else is needed. I think my compressor is still good but thinking about upgrading to the newer (smaller) style. I don't think I need to replace the condenser. The blower blows very poorly but I understand that is normal to the C3's. I have a 75 convertible with factory air. I have checked all the major a/c sites, old air, vintage air, a/c source, and none of them seem to have what I need for a 75. Any help would be great!:D

Try, Ecklers and Corvette Central, both have a kit. I have seen exactly what you are looking for and if I see it again I will post the link. Just keep looking at the parts place's and you will find it.

Thanks guys, those are great sites and should help.

I have a 1974 Coupe and did a complete overhaul on my system. I stuck with the original R12 system and a Delco rebuilt compressor from Last Detail. I also replace the Valve In Receiver (an absolute mother... to get at). The R12 system blows very cold, even over the radiated heat of a big block.

A couple tips, You can spend thousands of dollars and still never get adequate AC performance if you don't address these issues:
1) Air flow through the system from the blower motor
2) Radiated heat from the floor, foot-boards, etc.
3) Residual heat from the heater core
4) Air leaks in the firewall area from missing grommets etc.

There is an excellent book on the subject, Air Conditioning Strategies For The 63-82 Corvette by Michael J. Davis.

The moderator to this forum, Bob Chad, has an excellent technical area at his home page on these issues. Hi home page is: http://home.comcast.net/~chadwick.robert/index.htm

Again, fix the fundamental problems first.
