2004 Pontiac GTO, Callaway Product Development Car

"[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Vehicle Description
Phantom Black Metallic with Anthracite (black) interior and 6 speed manual trans. This car was purchased brand new by Callaway Cars. It was the first 2004 GTO modified by Callaway and was used to support performance product development and emissions compliance testing. The car has all of the GTO standard equipment, plus several new Callaway engine-related products. The modifications increase power to approximately 420 bhp. They include our 78 mm Billet Throttle Body and CNC-ported and machined cylinder heads with large diameter stainless steel valves, Callaway severe-duty valve springs, lightweight titanium retainers and multiple-angle Callaway valve job. The car is also equipped with Callaway’s latest LS-series camshaft, new pushrods, and high-ratio rocker arms. There is a slight lope at idle from the aggressive camshaft, however, the car still exhibits perfect road manners. It produces gobs of low-end torque and is 49-state emissions compliant. Many of the components are similar to those designed and manufactured by Callaway for Holden’s 300 kW (403 bhp) HSV muscle car and they have complied with GM’s performance and durability requirements. Balance of GM warranty applies. Vehicle Condition – 7,627 miles. This car is in excellent condition throughout. There are no known problems with this car. The suspension, body and interior are completely stock. The engine modifications, described above, increase the horsepower rating from Pontiac’s 350 bhp to approximately 420 bhp. "

Cool Car..

The seller would do much better on Ebay if they promoted the Callaway and the development connection. I have been a seller on Ebay since 1999 and have learned a few listing tricks. Good Luck

BTW: the Callaway TT 1987-002 only reached 15,000 on Ebay last night, I was the high bidder. Did not meet reserve. Last I knew, the owner wants 27,500...How would you explain the lack of bidding...

There are a few reasons why bidding might have stalled on the 1987 B2K...

Fishers, hoping to buy the car for a song are one, lack of exposure -

Also, how many people would really buy an 18 year old car off e-bay sight unseen?? I might, but then again...

How many prospective buyer really look to e-bay when buying a car? I know it is more and more every day, but I prefer old standby methods of Hemmings, the paper, internet detail ads - and then using the telephone to call ;)

I have bought two of the last 3 cars from online ad's - the other was from Hemmings Motor news

In the case of the the Callaway Z06, it sold offline, not as a result of the e-bay ad at all -

I see many of the same vehicles pop up on e-bay from time to time -

The GTO on auction right now, I have personally seen and it is as described - it is a NICE car with some interesting Callaway History - I am not sure what the market is right now for a 2004 GTO, but if I were in the market for one - this would be it!

The car BTW was recently in Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine with full details and background of the car & the GTO project :cool
