Does anyone know of a re hatch vent bracket that holds the rear glass open about 1-2". I've heard of these for use with the top off to eliniate the thumping you get while cruising at speed. If anyone knows where to get one please let me know..

Thanks :)

I bought the 600-298 model from Mid America a couple years ago and have been happy with how it works. BUT, I would not purchase this exact model again. I don't know who offers it but there is a similar hatch vent that the roof wrench fits. The Mid America model I listed requires a different wrench. Although it is included, I would like one less tool to keep track of.

The function of allowing air to pass through and not hammer against the rear window is noticeable. The turbulence and noise are reduced. I like it!

Mine uses the one the roof wratchet uses :)

I bought mine from Mid America, seems to work fine but I don`t run down the road with the vent open anymore,I found out the the exhaust fumes were getting sucked back into the cockpit through the vent opening, leaving me with a real bad headache, something to think about....

yes, it talks about that in the destructions that came with mine.
Says to only use the rear hatch lift, IF you have the top off and the windows down(not the exact words, but close) Or else it will be dragging exhaust fumes into the cabin of your Vette.

Use it safely!

(and thanks for making a good point Steve!) :)

Keep your foot on the gas! I've never had any such problem and I've run with A/C and the vent. I've found it counterproductive though. Mostly I use it to keep the car from baking on hot days when the sun is baking it while parked.

It's great in 70ish weather for driving around with the windows open and or the top out though :beer

Its very akin to the station wagons of the 70s and 80s that had the electric rear glass.
People would travel with the rear window open and there was a big problem with exhaust fumes filling the inside of the vehicle.

Don't remember if it was news worthy due to fatalities - Maybe someone who was an adult back then knows more about it.

Thanks everyone... I purchased the one from gadgetman today.. Hope to get it soon..
