well , just found out i have a blown head gasket on my blk zr1 . anyone know of a good zr1 mech in the southern calif area?

To my knowlege, there are no service shops in Southern California specializing in LT5 rebuild work.

If you want it done by a service facility with LT5 excperience, if it were me, I'd have a service shop which does C4 Corvette work, remove the engine then ship it to one of the places back east which does LT5 overhaul work. Two good ones are:

Automasters of Bowling Green
South Georgia Corvettes

Oops.
I forgot about Jeff. In fact, he's probably the closest to someone on So Cal.

thanx guys , i bit the bullet and took this on myself and i will be darned it runs . had the help of a young man brad zorn that is going to college in ohio for the auto industry . he made short work out of timing the cams, thank god

How many miles did the motor have on it when the gasket went?

151k . did the work with the help of a couple of young men i helped get started in the car resto business . kids didnt have a problem at all with setting the cam timming . did a leak down on the motor just the other day 4% in the worst cylinder not bad at all for the now 158k miles on her . still runs 12.10s @119-120mph . gotta love these motors

I agree jeef is most likely in the top 3-4 zr1 specialists around . had i not fixed the problem myself i would have either used him or corey henderson . both first quality people with an awsome reputation
