I need to replace the elbow fitting at the upper rear of my 1990 L98 block and the Chevrolet dealer says it has been discontinued. It is the '1/8" - 27 NPT 1 EXT 1 INT at 90 degrees' fitting that is vertical at about the mid-point on the rear of the engine block. Into this, there is a straight fitting with 2 threaded openings where the oil pressure snder and the fuel pump switch thread into. I would ideally like to get both fittings and replace both, but they seem to be discontinued so would be happy just finding the elbow that screws into the block. It has a 90 degree angle on the end to thread the other fitting into. I see from a parts maual (PDF) I have shows a couple part numbers, depending on the first or second design and the year, and I am not sure which would be the correct one for my application. Part number 14066510 seems to be DISCON, but 14078987 doesn't show that in my version of the parts manual. ANyone have an extra lying around that I could buy, or knows of a source for one or both items? Thanks, Tim

Thanks for the info... I will call them in the morning! Tim

I see the whole setup on Ebay often. Search under "TPI" or L98.

Are you sure that the fitting into the block isn't just a standard brass fitting ? I would check at an autoparts store where they keep an assortment of brass fittings. Dorman has a lot of that kind of odd fittings .
:w

Try this

Maybe you could contact a medical school and see if they have any unused elbows laying around:D

The fitting is steel, I assume so you don't just snap it off tightening it, as the exit hole has to face the rear of the car, and brass might not take the over-torquing to align it.
