Ok, so the opportunity to pick up a NICE jet ski for free has me thinking about installing a hitch on my '92 vert. I'm from chicago, but recently moved to Charlotte, NC. I'm driving home for Thanksgiving (looking forward to the ride through the mountains in a vette rather than a gigantic overloaded moving truck!). A girl I know here has acquired a set of jet skiis at a home in Michigan (on a trailer). The deal is, if I pick them up in michigan on the way back here, I get to keep one! The only flaw with this deal is that I have no hitch of course. Obviously this hitch would be rarely (if not just the one time) used, and I would like it to disappear after I complete my mission. What are my options!? Thanks for any help!

the owners manual says "this vehical is not designed nor intened for a trailer hitch".and why would went to tow jet-skis. your always putting gas in them, they beat you to pieces on the water, and you only get to go 'round the lake. and of course boaters hate you.IMHO-get a bike or if you like up north a sled. much more fun. and hey-lighten up. only the first sentence is for real!

delan makes a real nice hitch...i had one and also towed jet skiis.it had a 2000lb gvw and i think like a 2or 300lb tounge wt capacity...it was very expensive though.i think i paid 259.00 for it.its the same part number for 84-96.i took it off when i sold the car and sold it at carlisle this summer for 100.00

Corvette Hitch

Hey there Kevin,

Don't know if this will help you in your search or not, but check out a web site called Shirley's Yellow Corvette. In this site is a page dedicated to her "Tweety Bird Corvette", and on the page there is a photo that shows her car with a pull-along utility trailer, like one would use when heading off to a car show and the like.

In any event, she has a hitch on her car for this trailer. I don't know if it is hideable or not, but I'm sure you can contact her through the web site and find out all you may want to know about the hitch.

Good Luck, and post your results, okay?
Regards, Bill

Hitch

I've got a hitch on my 87 convertible. Pulled a stand up jetski with no problem (Could still smoke the tires!).

Anyways I've got a truck now. I'll sell you my hitch for cheap!

build me up buttercup!....

Hi guys-
sorry it's taken so long to get back to y'all on this, but as it turns out, the girl who I had the 'deal' with backed out with me and went with her stepfather instead. girls!... bah! actually, I can't really blame him or her. Oh well- saves me the trouble of finagling a hitch onto my car! Thanks for all the response!

In any event, it's getting difficult to find a hitch for C4's. I've been looking for one for my 87 coupe so I can haul my race tires. Reese just quit making a hitch, DrawTite doesn't make one and the DaLan hitch is over $300 and that's nearly 3 times what the Reese hitch cost before they discontinued them.
