Mike, is that a manual transmission? I'm not sure if they are 5 or 6 speed though in that year.
 
The most important thing is to buy the absolutely best car you can afford. It is so difficult to maintain motivation on a project car, when it's in pieces in the garage. For your first car, try to get something that can be a series of weekend projects.
Above all, good luck on whatever you eventually get.

That's pretty sound advice I think. You have to learn to crawl before you drive. ;)...or something like that
 
Well, the notion of a project doesn't really frighten me too much, I "restored" my first car when I was 13-14. A '66 Chevy pickup C20, redid the entire interior, currently I am driving a '72 Firebird I did a little restoration work on so BRING IT ON!!!!!! Oh and by the way, thanks for the advice guys, its all good stuff!
