I have my 50th ann. conv about 8 months. The seatbacks seem very loose compared to some other cars. Is this normal?

Hi there,
I would suggest that you compare with c5, as there is some movement.
If you see a difference over other c5, then I would have the dealership check it out.

loose driver seat

I had a loose drivers seat on my 2000, seemed like it would move when I accelerated or stopped. Took it to the dealer and it was a no problem dealer fix, it seems this is a very common problem on the C-5.

Yes, that is a very common problem, but I think rfriedkin is talking about the seatback only. dayco, I believe you mean the problem where the seat adjuster unit has some play in it, and the whole seat moves back and forth noticeably. The fix for that is to replace the seat adjuster unit and is addressed in a TSB. As for the seatback, I believe that is normal-- it does seem to move quite a bit without even lifting the release lever, but I don't think it's a problem. It only moves forward from where you set it, not back. So, leaning back, it will hold you. If you need to be kept from going forward, the seat belt will help you out there... ;)
