it rained here in vegas last night and when it rains you have to real careful. it doesnt rain a lot so all the oil and grease on the road never gets a chance to wash away. to make a long story short let me just say i hopped over a curb/median and severely bent the left side rims. they still hold air, however the chrome is flaking off and is missing on some spots. to add insult to injury the service ride control light is on. should i buy two new ones? or get them fixed. what could i have possibly done to the adjustable shocks?

hard to say with out getting under there.

For replacement rims, there is a fella on ebay that everyone likes.

Might just replace all 4 if you have no tire damage..

Good luck

yeah i looked there. he never has any saw blades. i was always partial to the saw blades. it might be time to update.

What's the catch? Why are those prices so good?

Volume sales I guess.
he has been on there a while and lots of happy Vette owners on all of the forums have used him.

Thats where I am getting mine this fall.

At least two of my sawblades have curb rash to the point that I do not think they are repairable.

Thanks Rain,

Now I know where I'm going to buy my next set of rims and maybe the tires! :D

Lately I've been thinking a lot in one of those ZR1 sets with the 11's at the rear and I've never seen prices like the ones in your link.

¿What do you say Edmod? ¿Should we start to save some $ for Christmas? ;)
(I just want the LT1 to LT4 conversion kit, rims, 11" drag radials, 13" front crossdrilled rotors, a new fuel pump, a transmission cooler and a meziere electric water pump) :cool

:w

Get a 4 wheel alignment done…as far as the Service Ride Control you may have damaged the servo-motor on the top of the shock..pull the codes it will tell you witch one is not working.

If you are intrested in replacing the saw blades on your car, I know someone who probably has several sets here in South Carolina. You can e-mail me and I will send you his name and number. Really nice guy, I've bought 3 Vetts from him and countless parts.

i was thinking about that. does the "service ride control" light blink? because the "service engine soon" light is not on.

You put the 11 inchers on the rear with 315/17 the wheels will not fit in the car wash anymore.
Just my 02 worth.;)

It should come on and stay on if a code is stored..It has nothing to do with service engine light.

The codes can be accessed thru the ALDL plug. If you don’t have a service manual maybe someone will be kind enough to list a link to a site that does..

I'm sorry about the condition of your wheels, but the codes going indicate that you hit the curb way too hard, and be glad that you were in a vette and not an SUV, or you may have ended up on it's side. The damage probably was to the ride control sensors but I wouldn't be suprised if your ABS Wheel Speed Sensor may be out also.

Find a GREAT shop which does alignments as a major part of their work. Four wheel Alignment, but also inspection of all the bushings, your bearings and the sensors on the offended side, and possibly the replacement of your shocks may be called for..

Lots of Luck!!!

I was always partial to the saw blades used on the '92s. In fact, I would have bought a 1996 if it weren't for the lack of pasenger area foot room.

Now that is funny! You would never have thought "Gee, does this wheel affect my ability to use an automatic carwash?" until you had to!!

i went to go check for some codes tonight and guess what? no paper clips. i gotta steal some from work tomorrow. ill post when i find out what the hell is going on.

allright. just pulled code 31. service manual says "left front out of position". i guess the rear is ok, so far. any ideas on what that means? i gotta say the ride is so much softer now since the system uses "tour" as the default.

Remove the clip from the shock actuator and pull it off, should be a gear inside check to see if anything is broken.. If not reinstall actuator clear the code and see if it comes back.

If it does swap the actuator with the other side if the code moves the problem is most likely with the actuator if the code stays the same its in the shock.

so i might have to update to new rims. but the rims do not come in 8.5 inches which are my fronts. and i dont wanna get new tires since they are new. my question to you guys is will a 255(front) tire fit a 9.5 rim?
