HELP!!! Just changed my surge tank to a painted one( looks great), took everything off old one and put it in the new one and filled it with the proper antifreeze and got a low coolant on the DIC. Checked level looked full added a litte anyways drove car arounde for a while and still get low coolant. Pulled out sensor out of the bottom of the tank and it looks good. But the space the sensor was in looked dry.??????? I cannot figure this one out.:confused

Hi there,
Yes, this does happen from time to time.
What I would do is reinstall everything, and knock on the side of the tank with a hammer handle lightly, and see if the light goes out.
It will be dry inside the area where the sensor is.

Tried that and nothing happens. Low Coolant light still comes on. How does the sensor read coolant level if its a dry well?? I also have a 2003 Z06 and that does not have a sensor at all?????:confused
