If you have a '96 CE and you installed replica ZR-1 wheels, then you've already seen how far they stick out of the rear fenders. Personally, I couldn't live with that but...whatever. You'd have been better to get a set of replica '96 GS Coupe wheels. The offset for the 96 GS Coupe rear is different than that of the ZR-1 rear and they don't stick out near as much.
Some here are posting about the '97-up sensors which are integral with the valve stem which have no relation to the '89-'96 sensors so don't get confused. Others have explained that the C4 LTPWS sensors are banded to the inside of each wheel with a giant hose clamp. Any competent tire service facility can dismount the tires without breaking a sensor as long as they know that sensors are there positioned 180° from the valve stem, so, as long as you tell them about the sensors, it should be easy to transfer the sensors to the new wheels. Just be cognizant of each sensor's location of on the car. They are color coded and each color must go on the same corner from which it came off. Also, there's a notch on the sensor counterweight and it must be positioned opposite the valve stem which, of course, puts the sensor 180° from the valve stem.
If you want to run those wheels with no sensors, know that eventually, as others have said, the Service LTPWS light will come on.
You can either remove the bulb put some black tape over the light on the DIC.
You can't pull the fuse because, as someone else pointed out, that also kills the cruise control.
Try this: since you're not going to run the sensors, disconnect the LTPWS module from the car's wiring harness. Better yet, remove the module then sell it and the four sensors to someone who needs those parts. That module is on top of the IP cavity in the instrument panel just right of center. It is accessed by removing the dashpad. You'll need a Factory Service Manual for the specific instructions on how to remove that.
