Low tire pressure warning.

... use a pan magnet that is used in tranmissions to collect steel particles, 1 3/4 O. D. X 3/4 I.D. X 7/32 thick...

Seem to be having trouble finding one of these magnets. Tried a local Advance Auto Parts and O'Reilly Auto Parts; a Lowe's; a local hardware-type store -- but came up empty everywhere... Radio Shack had smaller 'ring' magnets, but I don't think the hole was large enough to fit around a valve stem...

Any suggestions outside of a salvage yard...?

Perhaps you could try a thrift shop to see if they have any old car speakers. Just disassemble it and voila, you will have a strong enough magnet to do the reprogramming.

Thought of speaker magnets, but don't have any old ones laying around at the moment... Also can't think of any thrift or second-hand stores locally, but will keep my eyes open. Thanks!

Like I said in my first post on this, 2 stick magnets held in a "V" set over the valve stem will do it, got them at Lowe's. Lowe's also has a washer shaped magnet on a stick to pick nails/metal that would be a good one to try.

OK. Guess I missed that part about holding two bar magnets in a "V". I did see the bar magnets at Lowe's, so that may be a fall-back position if I can't dredge up a pan or old speaker magnet by the weekend.

Also saw the small, telescoping want 'pick-up' magnets that one uses to get down into confined spaces where your hand can't reach, but didn't see the 'floor model' you're talking about. I'll check again, though. Thanks!

Right hand magnet is an oil pan magnet and the 2 smaller ones came from an old computer speaker 10 minutes ago just to see what was in there. You might try a transmission shop.

Good luck

Thanks! The transmission shop suggestion paid off! Got two pan magnets from them, gratis.

All set now! :thumb
