Lowering

Hello everyone, I just picked up a 1999 vert, triple black with only 11K on her. The mats still had the plastic on. The car is completely optioned out unlike my previous coupe, wich had only moderate options. My question is if I lower this car using the stock bolts, like I did on my coupe, will it effect the real time damping feature. My previous coupe did not have this option, it only took a half hour to lower the car, great improvement in looks.

Hi there,
While it may change the way it rides a little, there should really be no negative effects.
Also have the alignment done before you drive it on a long trip.

Are there any written procedures on how to lower a Vette using the stock bolts ....??? What is the limit as to how far you can lower ...??? Is this lowering recommended ... ???? Any additional tire wear ...????

I lowered my last 99 Vette, took the mechanic only 20 min. The intructions are all over the net, just search the forum. Best thing I did. Made the car look awesome. The ride was a little softer but the lower center of gravity was great. Everyone loved the look. You will have to ease over speed bumps and such. Also, after you lower it, it will take about a week for the cars suspension to even out and settle in. There is a huge space between the fender and the tires,and it looks stupid. Gm had to follow some standard of an 18inch bumper to street production rule, hence the space. I forget wear I read this.
