Hi, I am new to your Forum, although I have been reading for a while. I have been watching '67 Heaven for sometime, in fact I have a pair of the same fenders thanx to Bob.
Anyway, I have a '67 convertible, the body is coming off this week and I am putting an LS1 engine 500 HP and 480 TQ from Turn Key Engine supply backed up with a Tremec 5 speed from Keisler. Has anyone done this swap, were there many problems..any fabrication ETC. I would appreciate any input we will probably be ready to drop the motor in about a month,
:Steer Thanx in advance for any help. The inspiration that I got from '67 Heaven has cost me a ton of $$$, but I can't wait till this baby is done
:D

Yeah ..What he Said...It's always good to see another 500Hp addict on the Forum... My Rat wagon also has the Keisler 5 speed....Guys like 67 Heaven like driving around the neighborhood in first gear at 9000 rpm and cruzen the far north country back roads at 70 MPH @ 4000 Rpm....Go Figure:L

There has to be somebody that has installed an LS1,6 motor in a mid year...where are you out there:Steer

Lsi Into C2

Hello, I haven't put an LS1 into a C2, But have put them into Datsun Z'S and late model GM G cars. 1st of all Street and Performancemakes makes some neet adaptors that convert the LS1 to early style motor mounts. The rest is pretty straight forward, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. John

A search of the old posts on this subject brought up two threads which might help some. Here they are:

We've done the LS6 conversion in a 62 and are working on a 63 now but we're a long way from the engine installation.

The LS1 Tech forum mentioned in one of the threads should be helpful for the engine mounting, wiring and plumbing aspects. A search of their archives might bring up what you are looking for.

i seen this done in a midyear. very nice installation. wish i knew who owned it. the car frequently is shown at National NHRA events at Maple Grove and also E-Town. the car is somwhere local in that area.
