The only for sure way is to have factory documentation. However there are a lot of clues to indicate that it was an LT-1. The first and easiest is to check the engine suffix code on the pad in front of the passenger valve covers. It should be CTK or CTU for LT-1 (CTV for ZR-1). On that same pad should be a VIN that matches the car's VIN. Other obvious engine differences between the LT-1 and other 70 engines: aluminum intake manifold, holley carb, and transistor ignition. Also, all 70 LT-1s have a 6500 rpm redline tach and no fuel return line or radiator overflow tank. Lt-1s also did not come with A/C (until 72) or automatic transmission.

Just looking at the pics it is highly unlikly that that car is an LT-1 based on the tach not being 6500 redline. Might be a nive 350 hp car though.

Thank you for your reply, it really helped. My research was not adequate enough but after talking to you i feel better.

thanks

Any other questions please ask. I'm far from an expert but have a big interest LT-1s.

From what I can tell it is not an LT-1. I looked for the little details and found none of them. The car is very nice however, i am not sure if it is worth the money.

Thanks again
Craig
