With 155k miles on my daily driver LT4, it is time to freshen-up the heads.

Has anyone installed either of the following heads on their LT4?
- AFR 1039 (195cc port competition ported) $1275ea
- AFR 1031 (195cc port) $950ea
- Lingenfelter (ported LT4) $900ea plus stock cores
- Scoggin Dickey (ported LT4 SD3287) $1100ea

Current configuration on the car is:
- GM LT4 Hot Cam
- Lingenfelter ported LT4 manifold
- 58mm Throttle Body
- Stock Exhaust Manifolds, Random Tech Cat-Cons, 3" X-Pipe
- PCM tune by PCMforless

I appreciate your experience and feed-back.

Sanjirelli.

With that many miles on the engine I would rebuild the short block before I spent that much time and money with new heads. As it will really put new pressure on the old rings and bearings. If you are a hard driver and push it a lot you will be going thru the short block sooner than you think. Do a compression check and a leak down before you remove the stock heads. Good Luck

Yup, freshen up the whole engine or you will be disappointed big time.

FYI, The SDPC "Stage III" ported heads are CNCed/ported by LPE.

i have a set of LPE LT4 heads purchased from LPE directly and a set of SDPC Stage III Lt4 heads bought from SDPC.

The difference between the two are the valves and hardware. LPE uses better valves, springs, etc.. I would order from LPE.

My current setup is:

SDPC / LPE LT4 heads
LPE LT4 intake
383 all forged
847 cam
EM long tubes
Magnaflow cats
3" dual pipes all the way back
3" magnaflow xpipe

440rwhp and around 410rwtq
