LT4 LT4 heads question

How expensive is it to have your LT4 heads ported and polished? how much horsepower will it add? where can you get it done at? would it be cheaper than getting new heads? im thnking about doing this when i put my hotcam in. i would think it would add more power to have P&P heads with a hotcammed engine than with a stock motor. am i wrong?

Your post made me wonder what it would run to have LT4 heads ported and polished, so I jumped on to Lingenfelters site.

If you go down to options, you will see that having the service done to new set of heads is $2,895.00. Sending in your core will run $1,895.00.

WOW! i assume that is for a top of the line stage III P&P job. i know CNC in south florida is one of the biggest names in P&P and they charge about 1700 to P&P LT4 heads to stage III. i wonder how many CFM stage III LT4 heads flow? i wonder how much horsepower this will support before you have to go with better heads

i assume this is for top of the line porting and polishing. Assuming you could not get an LT4 head to flow any better. How much horsepower do you think this will work with before the heads become the limiting factor and you have to go with better designed heads from say AFR?

I’m not to sure about the specifics regarding the flow and horsepower support.

I would call Lingenfelter directly (260-724-2552) to ask about the specifics. This way, you will be speaking with a knowledgeable person that will save you time by getting the info straight from the horses mouth so-to-speak.

CNC will probably have a person that can provide info as well.

There is a forum member, CKA Racing, he has informative answers for questions on modifications, hopefully he’ll come across this post and be able to help out.
