LT4 lt4 tranny = zr1 tranny?

Is the 6 speed in the 1996 LT4 I'm looking at (to buy) the same tranny as the ones found in ZR1's?

According to my little "Corvette Black Book", the ZR-1 was only offered with a ZF 6-speed tranny....RPO# MN6. The LT-4's were also only offered with a ZF 6-speed tranny...RPO# MN6. It looks like they are the same to me. But, to be sure, one of the LT-4 or ZR-1 guys could verify whether or not they are indeed the same.

Same tranny except two different things. Input shaft on the ZR-1 is longer and the bellhousing length as well.

How many times must "no" be stated

If you buy a ZR-1 and try to put a L98, LT1, LT4 tranny in, the input shaft isn't long enough.

If you buy a L98, LT1, lT4 car and try to put a ZR-1 tranny in, the input shaft is to long, and you won't be able to bolt it up.


Plain and simple, no.
