Runs Like A Scalded Cat LT4 CE
The previous owner of my new LT4 has had a low tire pressure warning light on for about 22k miles. It was never triggered by a flat or blown tire. He just never got around to getting it diagnosed. I have been told it could either be a bad sensor or as simple as resetting an error code. My local shop (not GM place) said it may go away by simply disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes and seeing if the computer resets itself. He mentioned this is possible only if it is not a "hard" code. Any experience with any of this?

Does it come on at start up or after driving a few miles? I had a bad wheel sensor that after about 3-4 miles of steady driving would trigger the light. It reset each time I started the vehicle. Strange thing happened one day while the light was on, I was cruisen down the hwy, and another c4 pulled along side me, waved and went on - the light turned off - their car fixed the missing signal (until I restarted )!!! I ended up taking it it a 'factory' Goodyear shop to have them fix it, my regular dealer was helpless.

The ltpws control communicates with each wheel sensor everytime the ignition key is actuated, and after a normalizing period, a mile or two, will report its findings: a bad system, a bad sensor, or low pressure. When I got my 17x11s, I did not want to demount a whole set of tires, so, when the fat ones are on, the repair ltpws light comes on after a while. When I put the skinnies back on, the light stays off. I had looked for used rear wheel sensors, but couldn't find any during the few months that I was looked. so now the fix ltpws bulb is in the garage in a drawer.:s

The warning light stays on from the turn of the key. It has been that way for about 20k miles. I'm just wondering if anyone heard of disconnecting the battery to allow the computer to reset or if indeed this sounds like a bad sensor somewhere. And if so, I'm sure the computer will tell which wheel - at least, I'm hoping????

On mine pulling the batt cable reset the code and warning light.
Although the warning light turned on again after 50 mi of driving.
I came to find out later that all of the wheel sensors were removed. I assume that they were not working.
When I bought the car the warning light was out; I wonder if the seller intentionaly reset the code during the sale process?
Good luck, Chris:cool

Jman, sounds like you have a problem with the control module...or perhaps someone has removed all the wheel sensors? The LTPWS warning light should not come on until you have driven several miles. Disconecting the battery is worth a try as that does force resets. Then, lower the air pressure in one of your tires to 25 pounds. If the Low Tire warning light comes on you have a sensor on the wheel and it is working. If it doesn't light within a 200 yards or so, try another wheel.

I'll Try

I'll try disconnecting the cable and reporting back. The car is bone stock and has been very well taken care of. I suspect they're there just something causing a bad signal.
