Hi friends thanks for letting me join your group. Her is a story I think everyone will enjoy. I'm soon to be the proud owner of 67 427 coupe. 3 weeks ago my wife (terri) was chating with freinds on aol when the subject of cars came up. She mentioned my hubby has always wanted a corvette. A long time chat friend (theo) says he may have just such a car. Theo is a car buff and restorer that has a shop in the midwest. His sons run the domestic part of the shop while theo works on the cool stuff. He emails me about the car. Original owner of the car gets busted by by his wife fooling around. Owner sends car to theo for safe keeping. Owner needs fast cash for lawer. Wants 14k for car. Theo sees glass damage and offers 4 thousand dollars. Owner snaps it up. Theo tells me car is in great mechanical shape needs door skin and repairs to rear deck. He said he will repair the damage paint orginal color and deliver to me in wa for 5k. He will let me drive and inspect for 10 days. if i'm not happy he will haul it off. Thats not a misprint 5000.00 us dollars. Theo tells me he's doing this for me because its about time i gave someone a break that really deserves it. WOW!!! Just days after the main contact theo has a death in the family. I've had no contact since. I do know the car is blue, 427 , dual quads, 40,000 orginal miles, leather interior,origanl owner. Thats it. I guess we will see what happens. Tammy, Thanks for the advise. Ive been thinking if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Does make me alitttle nervous but I did talk with anouther guy who purchased a 65 mustang from the same person an he is very satisfied

jrose, Ya I know what you mean. Thats whats so funny about the whole deal is I'm not a lucky person. I don't have bad luck just have never been a gambler on anything

It is good to be cautious for sure; hope it works out for you. My luck is a dollar short and a day late on deals like this; I have seen them but never fortunant to be on the good end of something like this, so we are all pulling for you, and keeping our fingers crossed. Can't wait to hear it all worked out for you.

I can't help but repeat what Tammy said. I know you've spoken with someone who had a good deal with this guy, but........I don't know. I sell Corvettes for a living, and even the worst of the '67's brings in huge dollars!!!

I want to believe that this is the real thing. However, don't turn over even $1.00 before you receive the Corvette and have it totally checked out.

Keep us posted Mark and we sure hope it works out for you. These deals are out there but I never seem to be on the receiving end of them. I've had friends that have gotten deals like this but never me
