MAD Chambered Exhaust ?

Does anyone know who actually makes this system for them?? I love the sound of their chambers, and I wouldn't mind switching out my Allen's sections for theirs.

I had the non chambered MAD full dual system once and the fit wasn't that great, so I'm just interested in the chambered sections.

Not to get off topic but I noticed you have a Jeep steering box on your '81. I've been thinking about the same mod. Do you like it? Would you do it again? Was it worth the money? thanks.

A few years ago the system was made by Walker, but I am not sure if that is still the case.

Ralph.

Not sure if I'll get in trouble for mentioning a vendor here but here goes. Look in Jegs catalog. I bought mine from them. They are made by Stainless Works and are awsome! Mine are 3" so they were a little pricey but the quality is great. Also, the ones from Jegs do not neck down in the chambered section like the MAD ones do. If they say 3" they are 3" I.D. in the chambererd sections.

I have the MAD chambered system on my Vette, and love it. When I decided to update the exhaust on my Z-28, I could not find a chambered system...

Instead I found someone who makes chambered exhaust mufflers ("tubes"), and then had them custom installed.

Here's how they look: http://picasaweb.google.com/1fine69/CamaroCheckUp/photo#5152546205900338066

I bought the chambered tubes Exhaust Doctor, an eBay vendor. They offer the tubes in custom lengths, diameters, etc. Here's a link to one of their products, but you can contact them directly for custom sizes: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...m=160219088724&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=006

I saw those. I was also looking at ones from Sweet Thunder, but I ended up going with the Thrush stainless glasspacks. I heard them on their site and I loved the sound. If I don't like them on the car I can just return them and go with something else.

For me the Jeep box was a big improvement over the stock box. If there was nothing else out there I would do it again, BUT if I were to get something now over the stock box I would give the new rack and pinion setup from VBP a try. I am just too used to modern steering to be happy with power steering, no matter how good it is setup.

Ralph,
Thanks for the clip. That's pretty much how my Allen's setup sounds now.
