OK, by now I know (by repairing my instrument module) that there does not seem to anything on our beloved cars that hasnt been dissected and an attemp made to repair it. How about this very expensive component that appears that it can be violated by us?

I think repair is not something we can do. Many people remove the screens and file down the cooling fins on the inside in an attempt to increase air flow. But if it's broken then it R&R time. I've been though three in 6 years - be careful of "rebuilt" units from the big chain parts stores.

Thanks 86Gold,
I get the code 33 or 34 (I forget right now) but at the time the shop manual
directed toward the MAF, I changed both relays, but still had the error code.
I just wish there was a way to tell for sure before I spent all that money
