hey guy, just wondering if anyone out there is running a twin screw type supercharger on an L98.

The LPE one is a magnacharger but i dont know if it would work on an l98, its for an ls1.

Here is some food for thought, as I have looked into this briefly:

MagnaCharger makes a setup for the Vortec pickup trucks. I was consodering getting a pair of Vortec or fast burn heads, use the pickup intake manifold, and then see if I can bolt on the C5 compressor which has the front throttle body mount rather than the rear as the pickup has. Magna said they could make a custom pully length to line things up right.

I did not cost this up, you would need to check hood clearance, but there is a chance that it would be close to the TPI hieght. You will need a chip done also.
Did not get far enough to determine brackets or other headaches.

man don't kill yourself with the cost of trying something new. these setups below would be the way togo. it would put any stock motored L98 in the low 12's and possible high 11's with the performance gear or stick and a good stall on DR's. if thats not enough NAWSSS :D

i looked these up a few weeks ago at www.superchargersonline.com and these are the only 2 that is being made for TPI unless you want a B&M roots style blower sticking out of the hood. not too bad a price :) i know what i'll be looking at next fall ;)

assuming one can program a computer to handle a supercharger...

LPE has the supercharger for 1000$

http://www.lingenfelter.com/lingenfelter/product.asp?dept_id=125&pf_id=544

vortec heads cost what? 500?

Its not that im trying to do something new, its that i saw the supercharger for 1000$ and just thought "what if". I really cant afford (time or money) right now to pursue a supercharger system to perfection, but it would be nice!

Anyway, im aware there is alot more in a supercharger kit than just the supercharger... so dont flame on that.

Just look at the supercharger.... and im thinking "great, i can save that 800 and not buy the miniram"

I would have to say you are not reading the descriptuon correctly. That $1,000 is not for the supercharger but the cost to POLISH the supercharger. So in other words you order the supercharger kit that you want from LPE than you order to have it polished for $1,000 more.

ok wow, ok then yeah... nevermind.
