max tire width help

Hey I just bought some chrome 17 x 9.5 rims for my 93.
Are the tire sizes 255/45z 17 & 285/40z 17 ok on the 9.5 rims or would I have to have the 11 inch rear rims ????

You will be fine. You really only need an 11in. rim for a 315 tire. That will be a sharp looking setup on a black Corvette. You'll have to post some pics when you get a chance.

I did a quick check of tirerack.com and looked at GoodYear specs for wheel width.

255/40/17 wheel width range 8.5-10
285/40/17 ------------------- 9.5-11
315/35/17 ---------------------- 10.5-12.5

Your tires will fit and work just fine.
In fact, 315's are not recommended for the 9.5 wheel!
