May Pull the Lemon Law

If you go the Lemon Law route, make sure you have ALL your ducks in a row (so to speak). If you purchased your car out of state, then you will have to file your Lemon Law claim in the state in which you purchased the car (and will be limited to the remedy that is provided by that state's Lemon Law). Generally, Lemon Law buy-backs are for a depreciated amount and not replacement value.

you may have shot yourself in the foot by ADMITTING you drive the car agressively! like maybe, you race it? a good lawyer on the dealer side will definitely asking those type of questions

Don't think they have a case here.

I haven't admitted to them the car has been driven hard (that's a very subjective term), a good lawyer can ask all he wants and will get nowhere with it, it has never been raced, and there is a VCR tape that came with the ZO6 teaching the new owner all about how hard the car can be driven and how it can hold up to it and some content on HOW TO DO IT!!!!

Another member of my family has pulled the lemon law and there is no lawyering involved. The law is clearly stated very much in black and white where I live.

Other thoughts?

Hey Roadfrog,

As you know, I had the same problem at 9000 mi. My car was definitely not driven hard, and it is a known problem that exists with the car. Do a search on ZO6Vette.com and see all the same problems others have had with their ZO6 including myself. My 5th to 6th gear syncro was shattered, seals were leaking, and my shift forks were all bent. They fixed it without question. Walter Earl Cheverolet Bridgewater, Massachusetts. An excellent dealership.

I second that walter earl does a good job.

Hey Roadfrog. Let me know how it goes. The mechanics here are on strike but when they go back to work mine goes to the shop for the 3rd strike. It is pretty embarassing when your corvette leaks and people notice.

BTW - what is the new toy???

BZ28T!
I haven't seen you around here for ages! Welcome back! And a public thanks for the DVD version of my owners video you dubbed off for me! I've watched it many times learning to be a better driver of my Z06.
:D

Normally it is done by an independent arbitration panel, such as AAA. If that fails for you, then I believe that's when the layers are bought out. Opps, brought out. Of course that is how it is done here on the west coast. Good luck RG. slong

Slong, I think you meant "lawyers" rather than "layers." But it gave the paragraph and interesting interpretation. :L

Take it to another dealership for a second opinion. There's one in Colma, CA that will take the whole car apart and repair it as good as new!!!!!!!!!

Hi Patrick. It's great to be back!

PS - I'm glad you enjoy the DVD.

Enjoyed it?!
Since I did not have a copy of the original owner's video when I bought the Z06, this DVD has become an important reference/source document. I've played it perhaps a dozen times since you shipped it to me, and I learn a little something, or understand something a little better, each time I watch it.

Dubbing me off a copy was very kind of you. I sincerely appreciate it.

:)

Edit: Oops! Sorry about the hijack, Roadfrog. I just wanted to thank BZ28T publicly. Hope you understand!

BZT, I'll let you know how it goes if I pull it. PM me for the new toy. This is my last post. They're all the same.

It was a good joke gone bad. I really ment lawiers. :D "liars" ;LOL But you're right, they are layers and you don't even get dinner first with all that money spent. :)

Tnn. Lemon law requires full purchase price plus all tax and licence cost less 18 cents per miles on vehicle.

News Flash

The car has quit leaking completely. I just let it leak and, once in a while degreased the rear end. Eventually, it finally quit leaking.

Conclusion....I think the rear end was over filled or it now has no fluid in it at all (doubtful). Anyway, it runs fine past 140, so if the rear end breaks for lack of lube, then the dealer gets something to do.

I suspect MANY rear end leaks have been fixed needlessly due to overfills. Any thoughts on this? :)

This has been known to happen on many cars. The rear end has the flluid changed and is overfilled. Since the rear is vented they tend to leak through the vent and it appears to be more of a problem than it really is. Glad it seems to have worked itself out.
