Meguiar's Ultimate Compound

Anyone try ther Meguira's Ultimate Compound. I have Water Spots on My Black 96' and this stuff is supposed to get rid of them.?

Clay bar. Ever used one? Idiot proof. If this does not remove the water spots use any brand name polishing compound, following instructions.

Never tried the "Ultimate Compound" stuff.

Clay bar works for me also unless the spots are 'acid rain' spots where the paint is etched.

Whatcha' mean by water spots? Tap water minerals sitting ON TOP OF the clearcoat? Or etching INTO the clearcoat?

I had water spots IN my '94. They looked like acid etchings, and it took 2000 grit paper to get the surrounding surface down.

Then, about 3 times as much rubbing with Turtle Wax PREMIUM rubbing compound. And after that, about 3 times again as much rubbing with TW PREMIUM polishing compound.

I tested and posted pics of half a dozen compounds, including in the Meguiar's forum. A few days later, I got a Meguiar's rep on the phone, who saw it. He had good answers, but I was not convinced of which was better of all I tried. (and I have stock in 3M, which has purchased a large portion of Meg's).

Meg's, and one other product that I tried, have LOTS of wax in them. Wax conceals the scratches and hazing that's left behind. That's why they all say wipe dry, and not wash off the residue.
