I have recently purchased a low mileage 2000 convertible. On a recent road trip the memory seats started to act eratically. I have them set up for myself on #1 and my wife on #2. When I shut the vehichle off the memory button flashes #1 and the seat and wheel retract normally. Occasionally when I put the key back in and start it up, the seats start to go into memory #2. This happens about 50% of the time. The other times the seats stay retracted until I push #1 on the door panel. I can remember shutting off the ignition once while the car was still in drive, it is an automatic. Did this screw up the memory and should I just try to reprogram the memory option. The car is still under an extended warrantee, so I could take it to the dealer.

I just turned off the easy entry option on the dic.keeps issues away.

Are you using the FOB each time you come back to the car - whether it's locked or not?

Each time you get out and remove the key, the seats should go back and lower for easy exit. When you get back in the car, the seat should go forward to your position after you put the key in and close the door - but only if you tell the car 'you' are getting in. To tell the car who is getting in, it must see the unlock signal from the FOB or you must push the appropriate button on the door. The car does not 'remember' who was last driving so it has to be told each and every time.

As I recall, there were some issues with the memory seat option losing it's memory if the door was left open but I thought those were fixed by 2000. Maybe someone can refresh my memory here.

My 03 works as described above - every time, so far.

Seat Memory

On my 1999 Vette I have the same problem with the memory staying after I set it, and I have let the Vette know before I enter by pushing on the apprioate button, why.
