I have a 72 BB coupe. I have added the (dealer installed) option of a right side rear view mirror to reduce the blind spot along that side.
The kit I installed had no reinforcing plate for inside the door frame. It consisted of the template, the well nuts, base plate, gasket and mirror. Should it have a reinforcing plate inside just to firm up things?
I ask because I see the smallest of paint cracking around the base.
