I was in Austin yesterday, and I drove through a very heavy rain storm (Car has never been in the rain), and after it ended I went through a touchless car wash etc etc. Now to the trouble, I also just filled up with gas before the wash. Traveling down a very open Texas Hwy I was down shifting to 4th and running out the gear 100+mph but then the car started to sputter and the check engine light came on and the car was maybe running rich? lots of smoke at idle. Pulled over and let it cool off (15mins). and started agian same thing so I decided to just drive (manual actually addresses this and as long as its not flashing it's ok to drive under light load) I had about 120 miles to get home and I could tell I was running on 7, but as time went on it got a bit better and even started running back to normal. During that 120miles I ran about all the gas out since it was runnung so bad and filled it up again and as I stopped at a stop light it turned bad again (smoke etc). Got home and got on line to read about it and really could not find anything. I Reset the codes and was going to start it and get the error's and try to figure it out. Now the problem the starter made a very ugly sound and would not start the car, waited untill the morning and tried again, this time it started but not with out me pumping the gas to keep it going. After shuting off I tried again and bam the starter just spins? the error code I have is P1626 ch LOST!!!!!!!!! Any ideas? Help? My theory: Bad gas, Wet somthing? but starter??:bash
