On page 93, Dec. issue, it is stated that stock LT4 RPM at 70 in 6th should be 1200. Personally, mine runs around 17-1800. How about you guys? AFAIK, my rear end is stock gearing.

wx briefer,

I made it a point to check my tach as I drove my LT4 to and from work today.

Here’s where my tach was hovering:
1550-1600 rpm @ 70 mph
1800-1900 rpm @ 80 mph

All but for the K&N airfilter, my car is bone stock right down to the Goodyear GS-C’s. I didn’t get over 1700 rpm until I was approaching 80 mph.

In stock form, 90 MPH should be right about 2,000 RPM's.... The problem is the gearing is so tight, that very little RPM change = a big change in MPH. If I can dig up my calculator for this stuff, I will calculate the exact RPM's for speed.

I thought sixth gear was just a fake.......we really have a sixth gear.....hmmmmm
