I changed my tranny fluid about two weeks ago with Mobil 1 ATF replacing the original Dexron fluid. It seems that the transmission now shifts A LOT smoother than before. The shifts before were a lot crisper at part throttle and now have smoothed out. I assume that is because the fresh Mobil 1 ATF is slicker than the old fluid.

What are your experiences? Has anyone here had problems with Mobil 1 ATF and switched it back out??

Hi there,
Any synthetic ATF will affect the transmission in a positive way. This is more due to the fact that it is thinner, and will take less time to flow through vital components. Valve body shift time, accumulator buildup and the like are all affected by fluid flow.
Unless you get up to 250 on the transmission temp for extended racetrack time, you really should not have to change it for quite some time, based on your particular driving style.

I think it is great, and recommend running Pro Blends ATF additive also. It is like water wetter for your trans!
