moisture in rear compartment of convertible

I have noticed that when I put the owners manual in the right rear compartment (one of the 3) It appears moist after a day or so. But the compartment feels dry to the touch. Is the moisture level just that high in the rear compartment if the car is not kept in the garage?

I keep my car in the garage and have not seen a moisture problem.
