if any of you remember i was having problems with my horn. i finally got the upper horn contact which was the part that was broken. i also got a new lower contact( the spring and pin thing) i cant figure out how to re install that. first the directions with it say something about cutting it to 3/4 ". i also dont know which end goes in first. the regular end or the end with like a rim on it. also which end does the small black plastic piece go on. any help would be appreciated.

I wish I could remember the details. I replaced all this stuff last year. Check out corvettefaq.com. I belive there is a section on this, but I'm not sure. I do remember the instructions saying to cut the spring, but I never did. Sorry I can't remember the reassembly.

If all else fails, go to corvetteforum.com. There is a guy on the C3 section named Jim Shea. He use to work at the GM Saginaw Steering division. He is probably one of the most knowledgeable people on the net regarding corvette steering. Find his email, and he will help you.

thanks. i got it all figured out the other day so im all set!!

but this afternoon my alternator belt snapped...so i started that project tonite. since im gonna be in there im replacing all the belts, but leaving the a/c comp. one off. a/c isnt charged, dont plan on converting to 134a either. plus who needs a/c with t-tops! and the small extra HP and gas mileage will be nice.
