By purchasing most of the components on ebay I was able to buy a MY 2000/01 aluminum block LS1
block $600 (new)
two complete heads with valve $275 (new)
complete intake and injectors $300 (new)
crank $150 (new)
cam $15 (used)
pistons rods rings $275 (new)
lifters, oil pump, water pump(new), oil pan, rocker covers, rockers,gaskets,covers misc parts $200 (used)
Computer (used), harness (new) and spark plug modules (used)$325
Total $2140

Rebuilt T56 six speed $1050
Clutch Flywheel shifter (new) $175

Took me about 2 months to get all the parts

The ls1 combo is going in a 1977 (pre-cat) BMW 530i as my daily driver.
The weight savings list is a long one. Since the list posted previously, most of the bolts have been replaced with titanium and aluminum, seats replaced with super light racing seats, seat belt assemblies replaced with 4 point harness, center console and e-brake replaced with lighter units, unused wiring removed, alarm system horn and wiring(why a horn with no alarm system?), seat belt buzzer, rear light brackets, remaining brackets trimmed and ground, excess bolt lengths cut.

Needless to say I agree with inferno. The C-3 is a great looking unique automobile in a world of bland. For less than the price of a new Hyundi you can make it a one off monster and get your money back if you ever tire of it. Go for it.
