MotorTrend Letters to the Editor

Saw the C6 in person today...

The precision Red Coupe and the Silver Convertible..

The good stuff!
I like the new side cove.
The shorter side view is nice with the slightly longer wheelbase.
The closer relatoinship between tire and fender lip.
I like the 18 & 19 inch rims.
I thought the interior in ebony or black with the silver accents were a nice touch.
I like the new six speed toping out at over 180.
I like the better runflats.
I like the keyless start.

DISLIKES:

Hate the .. I mean hate seeing the headlight bulbs..
.
I've never been a fan or lover of popups or no pop ups...BUT I KNOW I DON'T WANT TO SEE EACH AND EVERY LITTLE ASPECT OF A LIGHT BULB AS IN THE C6.

The light grey lower panel is ok..but not a great aspect for me..

The flat surface obove and around the rim is not as smooth flowing as I like...Why is it flat? around the wheel well..(not a big deal and I noticed it on the Gallardo which is also a personal favorite)

Some angles of the body surfacing is excellent..and beautiful but with that comes a few angles that can appear awkard...but I would imagine that can be said of anything in this world...?

the rear center brake light being black doesn't bother me too much....

If I didn't already own a C5 corvette....I'd easily buy this new generation with confidence but as stunning as the car is...I can not see any reason to sell the C5 for one of these. JMO..

Concerning headlights on the C5 and C6, my guess is that some aftermarket company may offer a product which alters the current C6 headlights, as there seems to be a market developing for it---recall that an aftermarket company offered a fixed headlight product for the C5. This same company also offered twin lights which were recessed into the license plate area. I thought those looked great--really racey with the only problem being front license plate laws.

Chris,

I just thought about how people were buying fixed headlight kits for the C5's. Now they're going to come out with flip headlight kits for the C6!!! :L
