For those that have been thinking about a Big Brake package check out MOVITs 6 piston Billet brake system on this Callaway C9 (Impala SS). The car is owned by a German guy and apparently he wanted a Big Brake package. Working with Ernst he ended up with what you see in the picture. The caliper is a MOVIT 6 piston Billet caliper with the Callaway logo on the side.

This isn't the "for Sale Section" so if you want more information on these brakes let me know. I know the owner of MOVIT and can help you get a nice discount.

Hey Shopview, Good news, bad news...

You can run the brakes Bluewasp has, by putting Dymags on (or wheels like BoostedMaxPSI's OZ's) however, due to the internal "hump" that lessens the diameter of the inner section of the Callaway Run-flat wheels, they will not work - they bind up and cannot be used.

I hope this helps - Pics to follow in a few hours... :m

Hmmmm. Now I wouldn't do this for just anyone Shopview. But, because its you I'm willing to use your Bridgestones for awhile while you use my OZ's. :)

shopview, MOVIT makes a 16inch rim compatible system for armored cars. I sent the owner of MOVIT an e-mail asking if those could be used on a C4 corvette.

the 6s1 kit on my car can not be used. The smallest compatible rotor for that caliper is 342mm.

If it was me I would go with the 4 piston setup I sent you pictures of. That setup uses a 322 rotor (12.9inch) vs the 342 rotor of the 6 piston caliper.

Another suggestion is to use different rims. Those Callaway run flat rims are HEAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW. I couldn’t believe how heavy those rims are.

Incredible, remote R&D facility now open in Virginia ;)

I hope this is informative and helpful :beer

Here is a picture of prototype aluminum alloy rotor. Supposed to be super light and it dissipates heat quicker.

Mark... If you went with 20inch rims you could go with this setup.

18inch rotors with 6s2 calipers. 20% larger then the 6s1 on my car.

the finish is nickle plate

Those brakes look great, they remind me of those used on new Porsche Carreras. Very attractive!

I likes them brakes.... would be better if they painted the rotors blue like the ones for the C6 and made them orderable from CT.

blue rotors??? :confused I assume you mean the 'HAT' center part of the two piece rotor. You can get that in any color you want. Doesn't have to be black.

orderable from CT... ?? What is the advantage in ordering brakes from Callaway vs direct?

Actually, I was referring to the calipers from the first picture which are red. I thought it would be nice to see blue calipers with silver "callaway" lettering. Somehow, I thought that the C36 corvette had that look. The hat is not very visible behind the wheel and black would work for me.

Also, having them orderable from CT would "legitimize" them. The Twin Turbo Owners need a better braking system than the stock J55 brakes and going through Callaway would make me feel that I doing right for the car.
